The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix invites you to our 12th Annual Ikebana Art Exhibit presented by The Sonoran Desert Sogetsu Ikebana Study Group.

Ikebana, which translates to "giving life to flowers" is the art of Japanese flower arranging and is a 600-year-old tradition. This year's exhibit will be presented by The Sonoran Desert Sogetsu Ikebana Study Group. Sogetsu Ikebana is a contemporary Ikebana art style that encourages creativity and artistic expression using the natural beauty of flowers, leaves, and branches with unexpected and unconventional materials.
Our local artists will exhibit traditional styles with traditional branches and flowers as well as exotic works with local desert objects and unusual materials like plastics, metals, and fabrics.
In addition to the Ikebana on display, please enjoy viewing The 1,000 Cranes, 1,000 Dreams Project- From Yume Japanese Gardens and Museum of Tucson. As a response to the many people seeking ways to recover from the wounds that the pandemic has caused, Yume Japanese Gardens and Museum of Tucson launched a signal community project to provide hope and healing as a bridge to a happier tomorrow. Please don't miss this chance to experience it at the Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix.
